update on legal workshop

January 12th, 2007 @ 1:18 pm by Jessica
Hey guys,

Just a quick update. I sent around the mass email RE: the legal workshop yesterday without the room number. Kirin got the room # last night, so I included that on the emails I sent out today to previous participants and clubs. (thanks Scott)

Also, the Wharton Journal is temporarily suspended, so we might need to find ways to be creative to get extra press with MBAs. We’ll still put the ad in the DP.

Hey Anton, how’re the slides going?

Hi Guys,

  • Scott to upload/ e-mail the contact list from the info session

Judge relations:

  • About 60 judges have committed so far
  • Reminder to be sent on Sunday
  • Rest will probably come from personal contacts
    • The plan is to have 6 people read every plan, so that if someone can’t make it at the last minute, we have at least 5
    • Plans will be send out on 13 Nov (after review by Scott and Jeroen) for feedback by 22 Nov (or 1 Dec as per official deadline)

Marketing:

  • Shannon has included the events/ info on the WBPC in the weekly e-mails that are sent out by SEAS
  • Shannon to check possibility of including WBPC info on pop-up screens on SEAS computers
  • Marketing Team to brainstorm on how to increase awareness, especially at other Penn schools (please share some ideas at our next meeting!)
  • Anton to send “Plasma” screen page to Megan, Megan to pass on to appropriate Wharton office
  • E-mail to promote Ideas generation workshop was sent out on Sunday - Thanks!!
  • Ad in Daily Pennsylvanian was placed on Tuesday 7 Nov - it looked awesome!! It will be placed again on Thursday.

Mentor relations:

  • I thought we had a great Ideas generation workshop today with a pretty good turn-up (considering the acct exam tomorrow) - well done guys
  • 2 more workshops to be held before the winter break
  • We have received 5 specific mentor requests to-date
  • We currently have 4 mentors
  • Elfreda/ Kiran to send e-mail to team who requested a mentor to inform them that we’re working on it

Meeting minutes 10/26

October 29th, 2006 @ 9:06 am by Jeroen

First of all I’d like to thank Elfreda and Kiran for organizing a great first workshop. Impressive how you got so many people into the SHDH dungeons.

Here are the minutes of our last meeting:

  • Teambuilding event is set for next week Tuesday from 4.30-6pm
    • Scott and Jeroen to get together to review who (which “companies”) will be attending and create something for them to be recognized
    • Megan will take care of the all American food and drinks
    • 5 or 6 of us will be there to get the night going
    • Jess already sent out an e-mail to remind people of the event
    • Up until now I’ve received about 20 e-mails from people looking for a team
  • Website
    • Anton sent the website to Greg this week, who stated that the website should either be up by Friday or we have to postpone it until after Phase 1. Since it is not up now, I reckon that we didn’t make it for this Phase?!?
  • Marketing
    • Team to create an ad for the Daily Pennsylvanian, set a date for placement and contact the paper
    • Anton to create Powerpoint slide for Plasma screens in Huntsman and send to Megan by Friday (Anton, please send a copy to the wider team or post on Webcafe)
  • Mentoring and IT
    • 12 Teams have submitted or registrered themselves of which 3 have asked for Mentors
    • The idea generation workshop with Prof. Dushnitsky has been scheduled for Nov 7th at 4.30pm. Room still to be booked and e-mail to be send out shortly
  • Judge relations
    • Reminder e-mail will be send out tomorrow
    • So far we have about 20 judges for Phase 1, but we’ll probably get a better return on the new e-mail that will go out to all the recent alumni as well
    • Team still to contact VC&PE club to tap into their network of potential judge candidates

Last point is around building some more awareness around Upenn. Considering the relatively low number of people showing up at our info sessions (outside of Wharton), I would especially like Shannon and Anton (simply because you’re better connected) to further build on their plans to get the word out. Please get back to us on how you believe we can tackle the undergrad and wider Upenn community.

See y’all Tuesday!

Jeroen

A Day in the Life of a Marketing Director

October 26th, 2006 @ 1:10 pm by Anton

So I woke up this morning.  Sort of.  Actually, I fell off an exercise-ball-chair, wiped a full night’s slobber off my face, fell back asleep on the carpeted ground, and then woke up probably a few hours later.

I fell asleep at my desk, on an exercise ball, at 4 AM; ended up missing my exam this morning.  The good news is I made it to the weekly BPC meeting!  OOhhhh BPC!
